Stepler is a good fit if you want free rewards for walking, enjoy collecting two in-app currencies, and like having gift cards, brand deals and a PayPal or Visa cash-out to choose from, on iPhone or Android. Steppa is a good fit if you have an iPhone and want to stake money on reaching a step goal every day, then split the pool with the others who finish.

Stepler comes from a European company and, by its site, works in 12 countries. It sits with Sweatcoin, WeWard and Macadam among free reward apps. Steppa is a step challenge with money in it, where nobody is paid per step. We built Steppa, so for Stepler we have used its own site, its App Store page and one review by a competing app, which we name.

## How Stepler pays

Stepler reads your steps from Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android. Steps earn Points. Each day you can also convert that day's steps into Diamonds before midnight, and Diamonds come from games, partner tasks and surveys too, according to Edge Rewards. You spend Points and Diamonds on gift cards, brand deals, prize draws or a cash-out, and many rewards ask for both.

Stepler's official point rates, daily caps and the minimum for a cash-out are not listed on their site as of October 2026. One App Store reviewer says 10,000 steps a day earned a $10 gift card in about two weeks. Others say Diamonds are slow to collect, surveys pay little, and offers sometimes vanish. The app shows ads, and a one-time Ad-Free upgrade costs $9.99 on the US App Store or can be paid for with Diamonds.

## How Steppa pays

Steppa has one way to earn: finish a challenge. Each challenge has a daily step goal that every player shares, counted midnight to midnight in your own time zone. Reach it every day and you finish; miss one day and you are out, and your stake stays in the pool. The finishers split the pool, all of it.

Official challenges are mostly one to two weeks, and many are just three days. Players can create their own, from 5 to 180 days, at 5,000 to 50,000 steps a day, with stakes from $10 to $1,000. If a public challenge doesn't get enough players, it is cancelled and everyone is credited back.

## Two currencies or one pool

Stepler's value depends on rates it doesn't publish and on how many games and surveys you do, so the most honest figure we have is that one reviewer's $10 card in two weeks.

A made-up Steppa example: 50 players put $30 each into a 5-day challenge, and 42 reach the goal every day. The $1,500 pool splits 42 ways, about $35.71 each. Every player paid a $1.70 service fee to join (for most players $0.50 plus 4% of the stake, shown before you pay), so a finisher ends about $4.01 ahead. Each of the eight who missed a day is $31.70 down, which Stepler never asks you to risk. When every player finishes, nobody wins anything extra: each gets the stake back and is out only the fee paid to join.

## Syncing steps and getting paid

Edge Rewards reports that Stepler only imports steps from the last seven days, so the app needs opening at least weekly. Steppa reads Apple Health and never counts steps itself; an Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Oura or Whoop counts when it syncs there, and steps typed in by hand never count. Each challenge settles at 12:00 UTC two days after its last day.

Winnings land in your Steppa balance. You can withdraw to PayPal, open to players outside the US as well, or to a US bank account; a standard US bank transfer carries no Steppa fee, and a PayPal fee, if there is one, shows before you confirm. Steppa is for adults 18 and over; paid play depends on local law and is offered where the [Terms](https://legal.playsteppa.com/terms) allow.

## Frequently Asked Questions

**How do you earn Diamonds on Stepler?**
Each day you convert that day's steps into Diamonds before midnight, and Diamonds also come from games, partner tasks and surveys, according to Edge Rewards, a competing app that reviewed Stepler. Many rewards need both Diamonds and Points, and some App Store reviewers say Diamonds are slow to collect. Stepler's official rates and daily caps are not listed on their site as of October 2026.

**Can you cash out Stepler to PayPal?**
Yes. Stepler's site lists a cash-out to Visa or PayPal alongside more than 20 gift cards and offers from over 100 brands, though availability varies by country and changes over time. The cash value of Points and Diamonds and the minimum for a cash-out are not listed on their site as of October 2026. Steppa pays winnings to PayPal or a US bank account.

**Is Stepler legit?**
It is a real app from Stepler AB, rated 4.4 from 96 ratings on the US App Store and still updated. One reviewer there says walking 10,000 steps a day earned a $10 gift card in about two weeks, while others say rewards got harder to reach after the reward system changed. Like other reward apps, it relies on ads, games and surveys, with a paid ad-free option.

**Why did my Stepler steps not count?**
Edge Rewards reports that Stepler only imports steps from the last seven days, so you need to open the app at least once a week, and that the daily Diamond conversion must happen before midnight. Steppa reads Apple Health and settles each challenge at 12:00 UTC two days after its last day, which leaves time for a late sync. Steps typed in by hand never count on Steppa.
